Become a Stay At Home Dad – The Official Job Description & Application Process

I’m now 2 months in to my new career, having longed to become a stay at home dad for a while. But I wanted to share with you the process I went through to get here. I doubt it’s what you expect!

Believe it or not, I actually had to apply for this job. I saw the job advertised around the house and when I registered my interest, I was handed the job description to take away with me and digest before applying. This is what I was given:

I know! I was shocked when I read it too. None the less, I filled out my application form…

And waited with anticipation.

3 days later, a very nice lady, who sounded remarkably like my wife, gave me a call and invited me to come for an interview. An interview to be my own son’s stay-at-home-dad? Was she serious. Turns out she was, so I did a little bit of back-tracking, offered some flattery and wrote down the time and date for my interview.

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous before the interview. I’d had interviews before, but none by a 22 month old. Anyway, here’s what happened.
